Grand Square Hall Panama City (GSHPC) is the Emerald Coast’s biggest and best all wooden dance floor. It was built in 1986 at 1105 Bob Little Road in Panama City by the Panama City Square and Round Dance Association and is a Not-for-Profit organization.

Bay County experienced the hottest summer on record in 2023. GSHPC still had the original air conditioning unit that was four decades old.

Another Panama City business learned of their plight.

Mr Joe Ridge knew he could help. He’s locally owned and operated Ridge Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. since 1982 in Northwest Florida.

Mr Ridge stated “American Standard Air Conditioning, one of my suppliers, gives me the opportunity to offer a non-profit group a free system each year. In addition to the new unit, we will also install it at no charge.”

GSHPC Board President, Kathie Kern, remarked “We were elated when Mr Ridge notified us of the donation valued in excess of $10,000. We have five dance clubs that teach weekly; it’s important that hundreds of dancers have a comfortable environment.”

In November 2023, certified HVAC technicians Bill, Brian and Louis with Ridge installed a new American Standard 4-ton air conditioning unit including the indoor air handler and outdoor condenser.

Thousands of dancers attend hundreds of events at GSHPC annually with a variety of styles: Ballroom, Cha-Cha, Country Ballroom Fusion, Couples Line Dancing, Latin, Line Dancing, Rumba, Square Dancing, Swing, Tango, Two-Step, Waltz and West Coast Swing.

GSHPC’s dance floor is 66′ long x 54′ wide and has a genuine floating floor that’s soft on your feet. All ages and all dance levels are invited to join us on the dance floor. All events are family friendly (no smoking or alcohol) and there’s plenty of free parking.
